I ❤ Outer Wilds

Outer Wilds is a game about being curious and discovering your place in the universe.

The Next Generation of Outer Wilds Ventures Astronauts

One way to experience Outer Wilds again, in some fashion, after you've already discovered all of its secrets is to

*You have more to explore here!

You can only experience the puzzles Outer Wilds once, and that makes the experience even more special. Even years after 'completing' the game, however, I find myself thinking about it constantly and sometimes raising questions which challenge my understanding of the Nomai and the solar system! I think it's really fun to practice going after this curiosity and discovering the answers for myself, so I thought I'd share some questions I investigated for those explorers like me looking to fulfill their own curiosity!

So here are questions I've asked myself after finishing the game that you can also investigate!
First the question is revealed, then the results of my own investigation! I encourage you to answer them yourself if you can :)

THESE QUESTIONS CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR THE GAME!
I highly recommend playing yourself before undergoing any of these investigations!

Investigation 001 Hint: Ember Twin

Q: How did the Ember Twin Nomai clan survive in the Sunless City with the sand constantly flowing between the hourglass twins, filling up the caves?

There's a crack in the ceiling of the cave in the Sunless City which allows sand from Ash Twin to fill up the city and create real danger, despite sealing off of the city from the other cave systems by the Nomai. This crack likely formed after the Nomai's time, perhaps after a particular explosion...

Questions regarding Nomai Society

Investigation 002 Hint: Giant's Deep

Q: Which Nomai clan established on Giant's Deep and built the Orbital Probe Cannon?

I've yet to personally look into this, but I will soon! I encourage you to find out :)

Q: Can you find all of the quantum objects in the solar sytem with the signalscope? How accurate are their positions? (I'm looking at you, Giant's Deep)

I've yet to personally look into this, but I will soon! I encourage you to find out :)
